Cincinnati Nature Center

Throughout my tenure at Cincinnati Nature Center, my design responsibilities have spanned an array of materials from logo design to wayfinding signage, interpretive exhibits, magazines, annual reports, fundraising campaign mailings, web graphics, digital ads, and more.

2023 End of Year Fundraising Campaign

I designed this self-mailer format in 2022 for a spring fundraising campaign to not only save costs but also reduce waste. It was so successful that Cincinnati Nature Center has adopted the format for all fundraising campaigns since. Digital Ads

I have designed multiple digital advertisements for Cincinnati Nature Center, including these ads that lived on CincinnatiMagazine.com. The ads linked out to a variety of sponsored articles written by Cincinnati Nature Center, as well as the Nature Center’s website.

and Event Promotions

Light in the Forest is Cincinnati Nature Center’s annual winter lights event where guests walk the trail through the illuminated woods. The logo reflects the event’s theme of peace and tranquility. Visit the link below to see logo iterations, event promotions, merchandise designed for sale at the event, and more. Adobe Illustrator was utilized for the logo design, while Adobe InDesign and Adobe Illustrator were used for the creation of the event’s promotional materials. Nighttime event photography was captured using a Canon Rebel T2i and tripod.

2022 Impact Report

This 20-page impact report booklet for Cincinnati Nature Center was mailed to 1,600 donors and other Nature Center supporters. Visit the link below to see the booklet design and promotional materials. Adobe InDesign was utilized for the booklet and envelope design, as well as the creation of all promotional materials. I provided much of my own photography for the booklet’s imagery as well.

Videography & Motion Graphics

Collaborated with a colleague at Cincinnati Nature Center to craft an impactful end of year fundraising video. I contributed half of the video clips, provided artistic direction, and personally designed and animated the concluding outro animation featuring the red-headed woodpecker. A Canon Rebel T2i and iPhone 13 Pro were utilized for the video clips, and Adobe After Effects was used for the animation.

Forager’s Fest is Cincinnati Nature Center’s annual fall foraging festival. Guests celebrate this bountiful time of year with drinks, food, games, and all things foraged. Adobe Illustrator was utilized for the logo design and Adobe InDesign was used to create the promotional materials.

Protect What You Love Fundraising Campaign

This mini summer fundraising campaign kicked off around National Trails Day. Visit the link below to view the mailed letter, brochure, promotional materials, and apparel created for the campaign. Adobe InDesign was utilized to design all the campaign materials and Adobe Illustrator was used for the t-shirt design.

Newsleaf Magazine

Newsleaf is Cincinnati Nature Center’s member magazine that is mailed to over 16,000 households seasonally. A digital version is also created for those who prefer an online-only copy. To date, I’ve designed 18 issues. Visit the link below to browse the most recent issues (Winter 2019 and later). Adobe InDesign was utilized for magazine design and layout. I also provided many of my own photographs for each issue which are all color corrected and edited with Adobe Photoshop prior to print production.

Maple Season Interpretive Exhibit

This exhibit was created in collaboration with Cincinnati Nature Center’s Environmental Interpretation Interns and is on display in the lobby of Rowe Visitor Center every January through early March. Visit the link below to view each of the exhibit panels. Adobe InDesign and Adobe Illustrator were utilized for the exhibit design.

Membership Mailings and Acquisition Materials

Developed new designs for Cincinnati Nature Center’s membership mailings and member acquisition promotions. At the link below, view bifold brochures, envelopes, letters, and signage. Adobe InDesign was utilized for all of the membership material designs.

Inspired by Cincinnati Nature Center’s Rowe Woods and Van Gogh, I created this piece titled, “Undergrowth with Two Redheads.” Adobe Illustrator was utilized for the digital illustration.

Earlier Works

In my previous employment at OneTouchPoint, PrintManagement, Deskey Branding, and F+W Media, I communicated with a wide range of clients across diverse industries to examine needs and create effective print and digital designs, while adhering to each client’s brand standards and upholding their unique visual identities. Projects included logo designs, packaging, book design and interior page layouts, trade show designs, posters, brochures, direct mail, and more. Notable clients include First Care Medical Services, Miami University Farmer School of Business, Pure Romance, Steak 'n Shake, United Performance Metals, other local schools, as well as others.

First Care Medical Services

When working at PrintManagement, I redesigned the logo for First Care Medical Services. The original logo had become outdated and needed to be modernized to suit their growing business. Along with the logo redesign, I created flyers, informational brochures, banners, and more.

Miami University Farmer School of Business

In my time at PrintManagement and OneTouchPoint, I created numerous materials for Miami University’s Farmer School of Business including their biannual magazine, Journey, infographics, flyers, and more.

Pure Romance

Pure Romance was one of PrintManagement’s repeat clients. As such, I developed numerous marketing materials like business cards, flyers, brochures, and vinyl banners, as well as conference booth designs and other miscellaneous products such as a personal planner for their consultants.

Steak 'n Shake

In my internship with Deskey Branding, I created numerous materials for Steak 'n Shake including billboards, gift card designs, in-store signage, and more.

United Performance Metals

UPM was a repeat customer of PrintManagement, and as such, I created numerous marketing materials for the company like flyers, pocket folders, trade show displays, and more.

Package Design

In my internship with Deskey Branding, I created package designs for various companies in the food industry, such as this concept for one company’s new Greek Cream Cheese.
